11/7/2017 1 Comment Little Pumpkin - Baby ShowerAt Tin and Twine, we LOVE weddings but throwing a baby shower for a mama-to-be brings us so much joy! We love celebrating new life and seeing how excited a new mom is about her growing family. Our dear friends Mallory and Lance are expecting their first son in January 2018, and we couldn't be more excited for them! They are going to make wonderful parents. We chose to celebrate our little pumpkin with a rustic fall theme. All the signs and design work you will see are from our talented friendor Milkman Creations. Tin and Twine did the decor and styling; we now do rentals! Such a fun day with friends and family! All of us can't wait to meet baby boy. Congratulations Mallory and Lance.

8/31/2017 0 Comments The Fur Man Turns Fur-ty Nine!Last weekend I had the pleasure of organizing a 49th birthday in Tahoe. My client and I had so much fun planning we are already scheming our next event! For Andy's birthday party festivities we kicked off the weekend with a round of golf on Friday at Edgewood. Him and his closest friends had a blast playing 18 holes on this scenic course. Saturday was the main event, his guests met at Lakeside Marina just a short walk from the strip and jump aboard the Rum Runner. The guests were then greeted by Round Hill Pine's signature cocktail the Pain Killer in Andy's Fur-ty Ninth branded cups. This scenic venue is owned by the U.S Forest Service and is the best kept secret in Tahoe. The tent is closed off enough so you feel protected by weather but open enough that you can enjoy the views of the lake. We worked with Milkman Creations to create a brand and theme through out the event. Andy's nick name was the Fur Man back in college, hence "Andy's Fur-ty Ninth". We incorporate this phrase into almost every element of the party. We used different times in Andy's life as a theme for each table. 9/26/2016 0 Comments 4 Ways to Calm Your Inner CriticHow often do you let your inner critic stop you from going after what you truly desire? Or do you allow your inner critic to run rapid and beat you up?
At the start of motherhood, I wasn't aware of how negative I spoke to myself. I was my own biggest critic. It pains me now, to think how long I allowed this painful internal dialogue to play out. Now, I call my inner critic Sharon; it's the name people accidentally address me in emails or the barista at Starbucks will call out my drink order. Being called Sharon use to rev me up, but now I laugh because it's not that big of a deal. Giving my inner critic a name helps me to see this negativity as silly and not to take her so damn seriously! I've rounded up four ways to calm your inner critic: 1) Acknowledge that your inner critic is in the room.
2) Get curious about your fear and current needs.
3) Love on yourself
4) Visualize the best-case scenario

This room not only functions as a guest room but also as my own personal closet/dressing room, my work/creative space & last but not least my place to watch chick flicks when my husband is watching sports on every other device in the house!
7/20/2016 0 Comments Be our guest - 1 of 2I am constantly nesting! My husband thinks I have ADD when it comes to home decor and can't stand it if I come back with throw pillows. But hey! I love home decor, and I especially love a good DIY project. I'd say just about every month, season or holiday I am always trying to freshen up our home. We are currently renting a three bedroom home in Concord, CA. This picture is one of our guest rooms which we call "my room," basically, it's my closet! More recently I have turned it into my office, check out my next post to see how dramatically this space has changed! As you may have noticed, there was no rhyme or reason with this room before I refreshed it. This room primarily had a hodgepodge of furniture and decor I have collected throughout college and post-college. Now that we are married and started adulting, we decided to give this room some much-needed TLC. It also gave me a chance to show off my personality and create a space that inspires me every day! I tried to do this room on a budget! I didn't spend more than $200 to transform this room completely. Here's a list of items and links to where I purchased them. (A few items are no longer available). Duvet Cover Sheets Curtain Rod Pillows Curtains Vase Chalkpaint Wax Brushes These curtains were purchased to hide the hideous blinds! To allow the natural light to shine through and make the room feel more open, I chose a lighter color for the curtains. I love a good piece of furniture that has been refurbished. I transformed my drabby grey dresser into an antique looking piece. A lot of TLC went into this project, as well as, a few sips of whiskey ;). There is something very cathartic about using power tools. I had such a great Saturday, sanding, painting and screwing on the handles. It is so rewarding to see the finished product (pictured below). Come back and see the complete room transformation of our guest room! Until next time babes.

Looking for amazing tacos in SF? Then look no further this taco bar was catered by Tacolicious. We had chicken, carnitas and veggie tacos and of course I added beans and rice. Chalkboards are an easy way to dress up any buffet, especially using cheeky sayings such as "taco' bout a party!" Yummmmm... enough said about these churros from Rosa Mexicano. Everyone LOVED these churros, especially dunking them in chocolatey goodness and sweet strawberry sauce. Put the lime in the coconut and shake it all up! We enjoyed sipping on these tasty margaritas courtesy of Raff's Tropical beverages. The team was so excited and surprised that we brought a margarita machine into the office. Who else is obsessed with the oversized gold balloon fade!? Well, this girl is, and I couldn't help but put together this colorful "Cinco" photo booth backdrop. The great thing about these is you don't need to use helium if you are sticking them on the wall like I did. We ended up running out of our helium and got resourceful with a bike pump! Emojis are all the rave right now and who can resist these emoji masks?! We loved acting out emoji expressions in our DIY photo booth! Thank you Zumper for letting me style and plan your Cinco de Mayo fiesta!

We had the best weather for enjoying breakfast in the backyard. I served the food buffet style in the kitchen and had a mimosa/drink bar set up outside. Everyone had such a great time and definitely left full! xoxo, Tin & Twine |
